County Public Library (at 650 Central Avenue in Naples)
where five specialists will provide critical
information and offer sound advice and guidance
on starting a business.
We will pay particular attention to the licenses and permits required, the form of organization
that is best for you, your record keeping and accounting
requirements, and the type of insurance you should have.
You will especially learn the importance of preparing
a business plan and the procedures for procuring a loan.

SCORE participates in
Business 2 Business Expo and Small Business Workshop:
SCORE had a booth at the Bonita Chamber of Commerce's Business 2 Business Expo
on June 14th and again on June 21st at the Small Business workshop. Our volunteers
spread the word about SCORE's free and confidential services.
A local SBRN chapter of SBRN is here!:
The Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) is now getting organized here in Southwest Florida. SBRN started in Jacksonville, FL as a resource for small businesses in need of assistance from regulatory agencies, non-profits and for-fee professional service providers. The network focuses on the core professions that are a basic need of any small business. These professions include banking and finance, law, insurance, consulting and accounting. Additionally, agency representatives from regulatory offices and relevant non-profits are included to better serve our small business community. The underlying mission is to provide a network of legitimate professionals with verified certifications and ties to the local community in order to help meet the needs of small businesses.
SCORE and the SBDC are participating together to help grow this professional network. SCORE client Dan Didrick has invented the first non-robotic prosthetic finger with a full range of motion, including being able to curl like a normal finger. Now, he is on a mission. That mission, is to get his new invention to all of our soldiers with amputated fingers, which according to a press release from the Department of Defense, is nearly 1000 soldiers from just the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts (through February 2007)..
